6th: Kaila Allen, Vice President of Arizona Council of the Blind, will talk about ACB community calls, the crafts she enjoys, and her own vision loss journey

13th: Barbara Hinske, author of the Guiding Emily series, will talk about future books in the series and how a book is turned into a movie. All of her books are available on BARD.

1st: Potluck at the church
8th: Jean, the founder of Sister Jose Center, will talk about her homeless clients. TSB will do a food and personal grooming items drive.

15th: We will listen to the Hadley podcast on the All Terrain Cane and low vision. This podcast reinforces overcoming obstacles to achieve dreams. Barbara will also present.

July is Disability Pride Month. We celebrate the anniversary of the signing of the American Disability Act which has helped to make our world more accessible.
Our Annual Meeting will be Tuesday November 12, 2024. At the Annual Meeting, TSB members will elect the Board Directors to the TSB Board. TSB members will hear the President’s and Treasurer’s Reports. The TSB Board will provide lunch.
Anyone who wants to run for the board, needs to let me know before October 1st as the board has to approve the nomination.
Any bylaw changes will also be voted on at the Annual Meeting. According to our bylaws, no new nominations will be accepted at the Annual Meeting.
So, mark your calendar for Tuesday November 12th for our Annual Meeting.
Max the Cat receives Honorary Doctorate in ‘Litter-ature from Vermont University.

Becoming a doctor isn’t all that hard if you ask Max, who had to do nothing but explore, nap and pose for pictures to earn his degree. Max the campus cat? Try Dr. Max the Cat, thank you very much.
Vermont State University Castleton’s 2024 graduating class had the honor of sharing their commencement celebrations over the weekend with none other than Max, a tabby cat who has become something of a local celebrity during his time at the university. Max, recognized by the college by his formal name Max Dow, has become something of a fixture on campus since moving into his nearby home with his mom, Ashley Dow.
One day, he went missing and his family began the search. That’s when they first found him on campus and, soon, they began hearing from the students. “They just love him,” Dow told USA TODAY. “I get students giving me welfare checks on him throughout the day. Max the cat’s campus life For Max, paying a visit to the Castleton campus means getting lots of attention, taking rides on backpacks, scaling the greenhouse, posing for endless selfies, basking anywhere he pleases and even leading tour groups.”
In no particular order, here is a bit of Max’s wisdom:
Learn where the sun shines warm and lie down for a nap
While nine lives are great, it’s best to enjoy every bit of the one life you have
When you purr, you make others happy around you
